Freelance illustrator and fantasy arrrtist from the Basque Country in Spain. He’s been working on Magic: The Gathering since 2021.
Xabi is known for a wide variety of cards, ranging from roaring fiery creatures like the Pyrogoyf or the Twinflame Tyrant to cute cats like the Nine-Lives Familiar or the Helpful Hunter, sadly none based on any of his three cats.
He’s also worked on a few artifacts like the Brotherhood Regalia, Infantry Shield and the infamous and short-lived Cori-Steel Cutter, and he will be forever sad because the Clue token he painted for Bloomburrow was only printed in one of the precon decks, thus many players are missing detective frogge.
He longs for a return to Ixalan, his favourite plane, so he can paint some more dinosaurs and pirates. Especially so he can add the latter to his flavourful decks.
