Bazaar of Boxes was founded in 2019, but it all started in 2017 when Marvin Roelofs, BoB’s owner, purchased his very first 3D printer. After learning all there was to learn with this printer, Marvin started to print objects he could use in his daily life, mainly hobby-related things. Because of Marvin’s background as a 3D game artist, he was able to design everything on his own. Initially, the focus of Bazaar of Boxes was to create custom deck and dice boxes for Magic the Gathering and Dungeon & Dragons. This is where it all began.
Early 2021, Michel felt there had been a huge hole in the Dutch MTG Legacy landscape for quite some time; paper tournaments had basically died out, there was very little community gathering going on and when folks said that Legacy was a dying format – they almost started to believe them. However, that didn’t deter them from doing something about it. Michel took it upon himself to set up new community hubs for the Dutch Legacy scene and during the pandemic, they had been secretly working behind the scenes on setting up our own paper Legacy tournaments, now known as the Bazaar of Boxes Series.
Late 2024 Bazaar of Boxes joined the CardCon roster, bringing their BoB Series event to a huge boardgame/cardgame convention, once a year.

CardCon was the highlight of our year!
I met so many passionate players and collectors who truly love the TCG community. We can’t wait to come back with a bigger booth next year!

Visiting CardCon last year was an amazing experience. I loved how many different types of vendors were at the event. I found cards I’d been hunting for and even stumbled across some new games I’d never tried before. It felt like a treasure hunt for any TCG fan.
I also spent hours playing Commander with friends in the free play area. CardCon was the perfect place to pick up new cards for my deck, test them out right away, and meet other players. I’m already looking forward to the next one!

CardCon looked amazing and had so many spots to sit and play with friends. I also loved that my ticket let me explore the Spellenspektakel, so I could play new board games as wel as TCGs!
